PAPILLON

Diego Nicolosi (aka ‘Papillon’), is a Sicilian-born singer-songwriter and poet, painter and art curator with a degree from the Iulm University in Milan, born in Saronno (VA) on 20 06 1983.  In 2009 he won the semi-finals in Rome of the ‘Musica Controcorrente’ National Competition and in Rieti of the ‘Premio Poggio Bustone’ dedicated to Lucio Battisti.  In 2010, in collaboration with RAI conductor and arranger M° Valeriano Chiaravalle, he was one of the 50 finalists at the National Competition ‘Area Sanremo’ in the city of the same name with the song ‘Settembre’ (lyrics by Alessandra Carnevali), in the competition for the well-known Italian Song Festival.   Starting in 2013, they focus more on visual arts and the organisation of exhibitions of various national and international artists.   In the summer of 2019, in collaboration with arranger Vito Astone he published the song ‘Vale la “pena” ?’ on the net.   In the same year, he is called to take part in the ReLove Mi project to coincide with the opening of the new Euronics Experience Store located in Milan, performing in the well-known Piazza Gae Aulenti in the city of Milan, with his own songs and those of composer Fabrizio Campanelli.   In 2020, together with arranger Vito Astone and under the supervision of Maestro Valeriano Chiaravalle, he published the single ‘Con luce e tempo’ on the web.  
In 2021, from the collaboration with conductor Clemente Ferrari, the new song ‘Il capitale della mia poesia’ is released on all digital platforms.  
In 2022, an artistic partnership was born with record producer Giovanni Bigazzi and composer and singer Franco Fasano, with work aimed at researching ideas for new songs, with production by GB Music of Florence, the historic label of author and producer Giancarlo Bigazzi.

In 2023, the Papillon project was officially born with the release of the first single ‘Il Tatuaggio’.
In the same year, he was invited as a guest at the Mia Martini Award in Cittanova (RC).
