Gianfranco "Franco" Fasano is a Ligurian artist who has composed countless songs over the course of his career. Some of these he has performed himself (with excellent results): these are featured in the four albums he has released so far. His songs have been launched by great Italian and international artists. Just to name a few: Mina, Anna Oxa, Fausto Leali, Drupi, Peppino Di Capri, Fiordaliso, Iva Zanicchi, Plastic Bertrand, F. R. David, Flavia Fortunato, and for the children's world, Cristina D’Avena and many young performers who have sung his songs at the Zecchino d'Oro from 1994 to today.
In fact, while Franco Fasano is often associated with the songs that made him famous, such as "Vieni a stare qui" and "Da fratello a fratello," perhaps not everyone knows that he was the one behind some of Fausto Leali’s greatest hits. Songs like "Io amo," "Mi manchi" (also covered by Andrea Bocelli in 2006), "Ti lascerò" (a song performed by Anna Oxa and Leali that won the 1989 Sanremo Festival and led the duo to represent Italy at Eurovision with "Avrei voluto," also written by Franco), and many others too numerous to list, including the unreleased "La luna," written for Mia Martini but unfortunately left in the drawer.
A longtime friend of the Bigazzi family, he collaborates with GB Music in the artistic direction of the Giancarlo Bigazzi in Lounge and Papillon projects.
