Un Colpo al Cuore brought to success in 1968 by Mina is the first song officially signed by Giancarlo Bigazzi, both as author and composer. This new lounge version performed by Franco Simone is arranged by Nerio Poggi (aka Papik) and Peter De Girolamo.

This song is the second chapter of the Giancarlo Bigazzi in Lounge project: a series of musical reinterpretations, a progressive journey of rediscovery, with the aim of creating a new sound to some tracks of the boundless repertoire of Bigazzi's hits.
 
GB Music, the historic Florentine label now owned by Giovanni Bigazzi, has in fact already released on Friday, May 24, the first single in the series, entitled Giancarlo Bigazzi in Lounge feat. Nicole Magolie - Self Control. To celebrate, 40 years after the release of Self Control written by Giancarlo Bigazzi, Raf and Steve Piccolo in 1984, this great worldwide success with a new interpretation by Nicole Magolie.
 
The next track is Un Colpo Al Cuore is to be released on September 5 on the occasion of Giancarlo Bigazzi's birthday, who was born in 1940. The song is re-performed with an elegant and classical arrangement. Lounge Mood and Swing Orchestrale accompany Franco Simone's beautiful and delicate interpretation of Mina's great hit.
 
The whole series of releases will eventually be compiled into an album that will also be available on VINYL.
The project is to give new light to one of the most important repertoires in Italian musical literature. Bigazzi's anthology includes an incredible number of hits: “My intent and that of all GB Music,” says Giovanni Bigazzi, “is to make Giancarlo's work known and rediscovered from another listening point, in the union of generations, not only the younger ones but also among listeners who grew up with his songs.

Some time ago, the University of Santiago de Chile, in collaboration with the Cultural Institute of the Italian Embassy, developed a course dedicated to the best Italian popular music. The related promotional poster featured images of Fabrizio De Andrè, Lucio Dalla, Domenico Modugno and Franco Simone, considered the 4 indispensable songwriters of our pop music exported to the world.
