Giancarlo Bigazzi in Lounge: a series of musical reinterpretations, a progressive journey of rediscovery, with the aim of creating a new sound for some tracks from the boundless repertoire of hits by the great maestro Bigazzi.

GB Music, the historic Florentine label now owned by Giovanni Bigazzi, releases the first single in the series in 2024, entitled Giancarlo Bigazzi in Lounge feat. Nicole Magolie - Self Control. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the release of Self Control, written by Giancarlo Bigazzi, Raf, and Steve Piccolo in 1984, this global hit is reinterpreted by Nicole Magolie.
The second chapter is Giancarlo Bigazzi in Lounge feat. Franco Simone - Un Colpo Al Cuore. Franco Simone's beautiful and delicate interpretation in an orchestral swing style of the song made famous by Mina in 1968, for which Giancarlo wrote the lyrics and composed the music.
Available from July 2025 on all digital platforms and on radio rotation, the third track from the Giancarlo Bigazzi in Lounge project featuring Silvia Mezzanotte - Ti Pretendo. Performed by one of the historic voices of Matia Bazar, with lyrics by Gianna Albini and music by Giancarlo Bigazzi and Raf.
Also released on GB Music are the two instrumental versions Self Control Sax Solo and Ti Pretendo Guitar Version produced by Papik, featuring Fabio Tullio on saxophone and Alfredo Bochiccio on guitar, respectively. Also available is the Latin American market version of Un Colpo Al Cuore entitled Un Golpe al Corazón, performed and translated into Spanish by Franco Simone.
The entire series of releases will ultimately be collected on an album that will also be available on vinyl.

Showcase and DJ Set. At 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, in the Lounge, the most coveted and iconic venue at Casa Sanremo, there will be a presentation of Giancarlo Bigazzi's discography in Lounge.
Nicole Magolie will perform Raf's Self Control, accompanied by Dado Funky Poetz, head of music at MC2 and renowned music designer on the chill, ambient, and electronic scene. Among those present will be Giovanni Bigazzi, Franco Fasano, Papik, and Peter De Girolamo, together with journalist Grazia Serra, who will act as moderator.

My intention, and that of GB Music as a whole, is to promote and rediscover Giancarlo's work from a different perspective, bringing together different generations, not only younger listeners but also those who grew up with his songs, so that his ‘original compositions’ become a source of energy that is constantly renewed over time.
